every child deserves the opportunity to discover just how capable they truly are. We believe that when children feel encouraged, supported, and genuinely seen, they begin to believe in themselves. That confidence doesn't stay on the golf course. It follows them into the classroom, their friendships, their homes, and eventually into the adults they become.
Florida Junior Golf was built on that belief. Before you learn about our programs, our coaches, or the game we love, we'd like to share the story of why we do what we do and the values that continue to guide every lesson, every conversation, and every family we have the privilege of serving.
Our Story
Florida Junior Golf wasn't created from a business plan. It was created from a shared belief that every child deserves someone who believes in them.
Long before Florida Junior Golf existed, we had each dedicated our careers to helping people learn, grow, and discover what they were capable of becoming. Although our paths looked different, they were leading us toward the same purpose.
Coach Roger has spent his life teaching, mentoring, and inspiring young people through education, technology, robotics, and golf. As an educator and entrepreneur, he founded Little Engineers, where he introduced thousands of children to STEM education through hands-on LEGO® engineering and FIRST Robotics programs. He partnered with schools across the country to develop and implement LEGO Education curriculum, trained educators to successfully operate those programs long after they were established, and coached multiple FIRST Robotics teams to the World Finals. Along the way, he mentored students whose hard work and determination earned full college scholarships, proving that when children are encouraged, challenged, and supported, they often achieve far more than they ever imagined.
Golf became another classroom where Roger saw those same transformations happen every day. Children who arrived feeling nervous or unsure of themselves began leaving with greater confidence, resilience, patience, and belief in their own abilities. The game wasn't simply teaching them how to play golf. It was helping shape who they were becoming.
April's journey has always centered around education, entrepreneurship, and helping others build confidence in themselves. Over the past twenty-five years, she has built and operated multiple businesses across early childhood education, hospitality, wellness, property management, and family services, while serving thousands of children, parents, and employees. She has always loved creating meaningful programs, developing curriculum, mentoring teams, and building businesses that make a lasting difference in the lives of others.
That passion eventually grew into From Talent to Business™, where April mentors teens, young adults, and aspiring entrepreneurs who want to transform a talent, hobby, trade, passion, or business idea into a real business. Rather than simply teaching business concepts, she works alongside each student, helping them build confidence as they develop their brand, create websites, learn marketing, use technology and artificial intelligence, solve real business challenges, and launch something they are proud to call their own. At its heart, the program isn't just about entrepreneurship. It's about helping people believe that they are capable of creating something meaningful.
When we looked at everything we had each spent our lives doing, we realized a common thread had always been there.
Whether we were teaching robotics, mentoring young entrepreneurs, developing educational programs, coaching golf, or working with families, we were never simply teaching a subject. We were helping people build confidence, develop character, solve problems, and discover what they were capable of achieving.
Florida Junior Golf became the place where all of those experiences came together.
Today, every program we create reflects that same purpose. Tiny Tees introduces our youngest golfers and their families to the joy of learning together. Our private lessons, PGA Jr. League teams, homeschool physical education programs, high school, middle, and grade school teams, Nike Golf Camps, and community partnerships are all intentionally designed to help children build confidence, character, resilience, and a lifelong love for the game.
As our players grow, so do the opportunities in front of them. That's why we created Beyond the Scorecard™. We believe preparing a young athlete for the future means developing far more than their golf game. It means helping them discover who they are becoming, what they stand for, how they lead, communicate, serve others, and represent themselves with integrity long before college recruiting, sponsorships, NIL opportunities, or career decisions ever begin. Talent may open a door, but character, preparation, and purpose are what help young people walk confidently through it.
Whether a child joins us at two years old in Tiny Tees or dreams of playing collegiate or professional golf one day, our purpose has never changed. We want every child to leave our programs believing in themselves a little more than they did when they arrived. If we can help build stronger families, more confident children, and young people who are prepared for every opportunity life places before them, then we've accomplished something far greater than teaching a great golf swing.
At the end of the day, golf is simply the vehicle.

Developing Confident Players On and Off the Course.
We believe golf is one of the greatest teachers in the world.
Yes, we teach grip, stance, putting, chipping, and the full swing. We celebrate birdies, personal bests, and tournament victories. But those are only part of the journey.
The greatest lessons happen between the shots.
Golf teaches children how to stay calm when things don't go their way. It teaches patience when progress feels slow, honesty when no one is watching, respect for others, responsibility for their choices, and perseverance when they want to give up. It teaches them to think before they react, solve problems with confidence, encourage others, and understand that mistakes are not failures. They are opportunities to learn and grow.
These are the lessons that shape great golfers, but more importantly, great people.
We believe confidence is built through encouragement, not fear.
Every child learns differently, grows at a different pace, and arrives with their own unique personality. Our job is not to compare children to one another. Our job is to meet them where they are, celebrate every victory, and help them discover what they are capable of becoming.
We believe learning should be fun.
When children laugh, explore, play, and feel successful, they naturally want to come back. That excitement creates confidence. Confidence creates curiosity. Curiosity creates growth. Before long, golf becomes something they genuinely love instead of something they have to do.
That is why we created programs like Tiny Tees. We believe even our youngest golfers deserve a place where they can laugh, move, explore, and experience golf alongside the people they love most. Some families are simply looking for a meaningful way to spend time together outdoors. Others are introducing their child to golf for the very first time. Wherever they begin, we hope those joyful moments spark a lifelong love for the game and a lifetime of family memories.

We believe the mind is just as important as the swing.
Golf is a game of emotions, decisions, and resilience. We intentionally teach children how to breathe through frustration, stay focused under pressure, manage disappointment, celebrate others, and believe in themselves. Learning how to respond with confidence after a difficult shot often becomes the same skill they use later in school, at work, in relationships, and throughout life.
We believe good manners, kindness, gratitude, integrity, and respect still matter.
We encourage our players to shake hands, look people in the eye, say "please" and "thank you," care for the golf course, respect the rules, support their teammates, serve their community, and appreciate the freedoms and opportunities we have. We want every child who leaves our programs to become someone others enjoy being around because of the way they treat people.
At the end of the day, our success will never be measured only by tournament wins or college scholarships.
It will be measured by confident children who become compassionate adults.
By families who spend more time together.
By friendships that last a lifetime.
By young people who have the courage to try something hard, the resilience to keep going when life gets difficult, and the character to always do the right thing.
Golf is simply the vehicle.

Meet the Family Behind Florida Junior Golf
Every family has a story, and Florida Junior Golf is no different. The experiences we've shared, the lessons we've learned, and the life we've built together continue to shape every decision we make. We hope that by getting to know our family, you'll better understand the heart behind everything we do.
When people ask us what Florida Junior Golf is, the easiest answer would be to say we're a youth golf organization.
But the truth is, we're a family who genuinely loves spending time together on the golf course.
Golf isn't something we simply teach. It's woven into our everyday lives. Some of our favorite memories have been made walking fairways together, celebrating great shots, laughing through the not-so-great ones, and watching children discover confidence they didn't know they had. Those experiences continue to remind us why we do what we do and why we believe golf has the power to bring families closer together.
Between us, we are proud parents of five amazing children ranging in age from four to thirty-one. While each has followed their own unique path, they have all shaped the way we think about childhood, parenting, encouragement, and the importance of creating environments where young people feel supported, challenged, and loved.
Our youngest two, Oliver and Jodi, have quite literally grown up on the golf course. Oliver is a competitive junior golfer who has developed a genuine love for the game and enjoys encouraging younger players whenever he has the opportunity. Jodi first began riding along on the course before she could even walk and was happily swinging golf clubs before most children start preschool. Today, she can spend an entire day on the course with a smile on her face and still be excited to hit "just one more shot." Watching golf become something they truly love, rather than something they were expected to do, continues to remind us why creating joyful experiences matters so much.
As parents, we understand the trust families place in us every time they choose Florida Junior Golf. We would never create a program we wouldn't enthusiastically want our own children to be part of. Every lesson, every event, every curriculum, and every new program is built with that same question in mind: Would this be the kind of experience we would want for our own family? If the answer isn't yes, we keep working until it is.
As Florida Junior Golf continues to grow, so will our coaching family. While new coaches and mentors will join us over time, one thing will never change. Every person who wears a Florida Junior Golf logo will be chosen not only for their knowledge of the game but for their character, their heart for serving others, and their commitment to helping children grow both on and off the course. Protecting the culture we've built will always be more important than growing quickly because we believe families deserve consistency, authenticity, and coaches who genuinely care.
