Where Young Golfers Become Teammates, Build Confidence & Discover a Love for the Game
Every child remembers their first day on a team.

Sometimes they're excited. Sometimes they're nervous. Most parents are feeling a little of both.
​
You wonder if your child will make friends. You hope they'll enjoy themselves. You cross your fingers that they'll find something they genuinely look forward to each week.

That's exactly why we love PGA Jr. League.
​
At Florida Junior Golf, Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoons become much more than practices and tournaments. They become a place where young golfers encourage one another, celebrate small victories, learn from great coaches, and discover what it feels like to be part of something bigger than themselves.
​
Some players arrive having never stepped onto a golf course before. Others come with tournament experience and big goals already in mind. No matter where they're starting, every player is welcomed, challenged, and coached at a pace that's right for them.
​
By the end of the season, they've learned far more than how to hit a golf ball.
​
They've learned what it means to be a teammate.
​
Beginner golfers are always welcome. No previous golf experience is required.

Where Golf Becomes Friendship
When families first join PGA Jr. League, they usually come for the golf.
​
The friendships are the part they never see coming.
​
Over the course of a season, Wednesday evenings begin to feel familiar. Parents gather near the putting green while players warm up together, conversations pick up where they left off the week before, and someone is almost always laughing about the tee shot that somehow found the only tree on the entire hole.
​
When the round is over, very few families rush home.
​
Kids keep putting "just one more ball." Parents linger on the patio catching up. Dinner plans are made. Younger brothers and sisters start counting the days until they're old enough to join the team themselves.
​
Without anyone planning it, golf begins creating connections that reach well beyond the scorecard.
​
Players see each other again at camps, lessons, First Tee, tournaments, Florida Junior Golf TV, and family events throughout the year. Before long, familiar faces become close friends, and a group that once started as strangers begins to feel remarkably familiar.
​
That's one of the beautiful things about this game.
​
It has a way of bringing good people together.
​
And somewhere between the first tee and the final green, many families discover they didn't just find a golf team.
​
They found a place they genuinely enjoy coming back to.
Why Team Golf Changes Everything
Golf has always been a game that asks a lot of the individual player. You're responsible for every swing, every decision, and every shot that follows.
​
PGA Jr. League changes that in one important way.
​
Now every birdie has teammates celebrating beside you. Every tough hole comes with words of encouragement instead of silence. Players begin discovering that some of the most rewarding moments in golf have very little to do with the score.
​
One of the things Coach Roger notices most isn't the improvement in a player's swing.
​
It's the quiet moments that happen in between.
​
An older player pauses to help a younger teammate line up a putt. A beginner realizes they're capable of more than they believed the week before. A player who once got frustrated after a bad shot learns to smile, take a breath, and focus on the next one instead.
​
Those moments rarely make the scorecard.
They're also the moments that matter most.
​
As the season unfolds, players begin encouraging each other without being asked. They learn how to celebrate someone else's success, how to accept their own mistakes with humility, and how to keep moving forward when things don't go as planned.
​
Golf becomes the classroom.
​
Character becomes the lesson.

Every Practice Has a Purpose
One question we hear all the time is,
​
"What does a typical practice look like?"
​
The honest answer?
​
There isn't one.
​
Coach Roger has never believed in teaching thirty different kids exactly the same way. Every practice is built around the players who show up that evening, because every team, every age group, and every stage of development is a little different.
​
Some weeks the entire team works together. Other evenings players break into smaller groups based on age, experience, or the skills they're developing. You might see one group learning how to escape a greenside bunker while another is playing pressure putting games that somehow become far more competitive than anyone expected.
​
(It's amazing how serious kids become when bragging rights are on the line.)
​
The goal isn't to keep everyone doing the same thing.
​
The goal is to keep everyone growing.
​
That means beginners receive the encouragement they need to build a strong foundation, while more experienced players continue refining the parts of their game that prepare them for tournaments and school golf.
By the end of practice, every player should leave knowing a little more than when they arrived.
Some evenings it's a better chip shot.
​
Some evenings it's smarter course management.
​
Sometimes it's simply the realization that they can do something today they couldn't do last week.
​
For Coach Roger, that's what a successful practice looks like.

It's The Little Things
People sometimes ask what makes Florida Junior Golf's PGA Jr. League different from every other one.
​
The honest answer is... you probably won't find it by looking at a schedule.
​
Every league has matches. Every league has team jerseys. Some leagues have weekly practices.
​
What makes an experience memorable isn't printed on a calendar.
​
It's found in the moments you never planned for.
​
It's the smile on a child's face after they finally hit the chip shot they've been working on for three weeks. It's another player walking over with a quiet, "You've got this," before a nervous first tee shot. It's the laughter after someone confidently announces they're about to make a twenty-foot putt... only to discover the hole breaks a little more than they expected. Golf has a wonderful way of keeping all of us humble, no matter our age.

Those are the moments Coach Roger notices.
​
Because those are the moments that tell him players are learning much more than where to aim or how to grip the club.
​
They're learning patience.
They're learning perseverance.
​
They're learning how to celebrate someone else's success just as much as their own.
They're becoming better golfers, and at the very same time, they're becoming thoughtful teammates, respectful competitors, and young people who genuinely enjoy being part of something bigger than themselves.
​
That's the balance we work hard to create at Florida Junior Golf.
​
We believe great coaching should help players improve their swing, lower their scores, understand the game, and continue reaching for bigger goals. We also believe the best golf experiences naturally teach resilience, sportsmanship, humility, and respect along the way.
​
One doesn't replace the other.
They simply grow together.
​
And when you look back on a season, you'll probably remember a few great shots.
​
But you'll remember those little moments even more.
You Never Know Where Golf Might Take Them
One of the things we've learned over the years is that no two young golfers ever follow exactly the same path.
Some players discover they love competition and begin setting goals for middle school, high school, or tournament golf. Others simply fall in love with the game itself and find a lifelong hobby they can enjoy with friends, parents, grandparents, and someday, maybe even their own children.

That's one of the beautiful things about golf.
There isn't just one destination.
​
Growing up in Central Florida gives young golfers access to one of the most active golf communities anywhere in the country. Along the way, players are introduced to new golf courses, tournaments, teaching professionals, mentors, college golfers, industry leaders, and experiences that help them see just how many different directions this game can take them.
​
Some of our players eventually discover they enjoy competing. Others find they love helping younger golfers, speaking in front of a camera on Florida Junior Golf TV, volunteering at events, or simply becoming the teammate everyone can count on. Every child uncovers something a little different, and we think that's exactly how it should be.
​
Our responsibility has never been to decide what success looks like for your child.

Our responsibility is to provide exceptional coaching, meaningful opportunities, and an environment where they can continue learning, growing, and discovering what they're capable of both on and off the golf course.

Looking back, those opportunities rarely begin with a championship trophy or a perfect round.

More often, they begin with a child who was willing to try something new, a family who decided to give golf a chance, and one Wednesday evening that turned into a season they never expected to remember for the rest of their lives.

The Facility features three distinct nine-hole courses, each inspired by the golf traditions of the British Isles:
Together, these three courses create 27 holes of championship golf and provide our junior golfers with a variety of playing experiences throughout the year. As players progress, they continue discovering new situations and learning how to adapt their game to different courses and environments.
