No. Girls of all skill levels are welcome. Whether your daughter is picking up a golf club for the very first time or already competing in tournaments, there is a place for her within our Girls Golf community. Our Girls Golf Club is designed to bring girls together through golf, friendship, mentorship, creativity, and fun. It is a welcoming environment where beginners can learn the basics, recreational players can continue developing their skills, and competitive golfers can build friendships while giving back to the next generation of players. In fact, many of our tournament players and Competitive Team members are encouraged to participate in Girls Golf Club events as well. These gatherings provide opportunities for older girls to serve as role models, mentors, and junior coaches while helping younger golfers feel welcomed and inspired. The most successful golfers often develop their love for the game through experiences that go beyond competition alone. While tournaments and practice are important, lasting friendships, positive role models, and a supportive golf community are often what keep girls involved in the game for years to come. Whether your daughter dreams of making her middle school team, playing high school golf, competing in tournaments, earning a college scholarship, or simply making new friends and enjoying the game, we are committed to helping her grow both on and off the golf course. Many of today's top female golfers spent their youth participating in junior golf communities where they learned not only how to play, but how to lead, encourage others, and enjoy the journey. Our goal is to create that same positive environment for every girl who joins Florida Junior Golf.

Girls Golf is designed to grow with your daughter throughout her junior golf journey. Our Girls Golf Club welcomes girls ages 4–18 and provides a fun, encouraging environment where players can build confidence, develop friendships, learn new skills, and strengthen their love for the game. Whether your daughter is brand new to golf or already competing in tournaments, she will find opportunities to learn, connect, and grow alongside other girls who share her interest in golf. For girls seeking additional training and competitive development, our Competitive Team programs are divided into two age-based divisions: • Middle School Division (typically ages 10–13) • High School Division (typically ages 14–18) These divisions allow players to practice and compete alongside girls who are at a similar age, maturity level, and stage of golf development. Many girls choose to participate in both the Girls Golf Club and a Competitive Team. This combination provides the best of both worlds: structured practice and competition, along with friendship, mentorship, leadership opportunities, and a supportive golf community. No matter where your daughter is in her golf journey, our goal is to provide a positive pathway that helps her build confidence, improve her skills, create lasting friendships, and discover all the opportunities the game of golf can offer.

Our Girls Competitive Teams operate during the Winter, Spring, and Summer seasons. Team activities pause during much of the local school golf season, typically from approximately August 15 through October 15, allowing players to fully participate with their middle school or high school teams. This approach gives girls the best of both worlds. They can enjoy representing their schools during the fall while continuing to receive development opportunities, coaching, and community support throughout the rest of the year. Many successful golfers benefit from having both a school team experience and an off-season training environment that allows them to continue improving their skills and confidence.

Our Girls Competitive Teams typically practice once per week during the Winter, Spring, and Summer seasons. Practice schedules are intentionally designed around school hours and seasonal daylight so girls can participate without feeling overwhelmed by an overly demanding schedule. As the amount of daylight changes throughout the year, practice start times may be adjusted to ensure players have enough time to learn, practice, and enjoy being on the golf course. Each practice is thoughtfully structured to provide meaningful instruction, skill development, team-building activities, and opportunities for personal growth. Depending on the season and the goals of the team, practices may include full swing instruction, short game development, on-course play, tournament preparation, rules and etiquette education, confidence-building exercises, leadership opportunities, and team competitions. We believe consistency is more important than simply spending long hours at the golf course. A well-designed weekly practice, combined with independent play, family golf outings, Girls Golf Club events, lessons, or tournament opportunities, creates a balanced pathway for long-term development and enjoyment of the game. Many successful junior golfers begin with a simple commitment: showing up consistently, learning a little each week, building confidence over time, and enjoying the journey alongside teammates and friends.

As our Girls Competitive Teams grow, additional practice groups may be added to maintain a positive learning environment and ensure every player receives quality coaching and attention. Our goal is to create an experience where girls feel supported, challenged, and connected, regardless of the size of the program.

Our Girls Golf Club and Girls Competitive Team programs are proudly based at Royal St. Cloud Golf Links in St. Cloud, Florida, one of Central Florida's most respected public golf facilities and the home course of Florida Junior Golf. Located just minutes from Lake Nona, Medical City, Narcoossee Road, Kissimmee, Poinciana, Harmony, and the surrounding Osceola County communities, Royal St. Cloud provides a beautiful and welcoming environment for girls to learn, practice, compete, and build lasting friendships through golf. As parents ourselves, we recognize the value of your time and strive to create programs that are worth the drive. Royal St. Cloud offers many amenities that families appreciate, including a full-service clubhouse, restaurant, covered seating areas, clean restrooms, a driving range, putting greens, practice facilities, and comfortable spaces for parents to relax, work remotely, socialize, or enjoy a meal while their daughter participates. Many families use practice nights as an opportunity to connect with other parents, enjoy dinner at the clubhouse, complete remote work, or simply relax while their children are engaged in a healthy, positive activity. Most importantly, Royal St. Cloud provides a safe, welcoming, and family-friendly atmosphere where girls can develop their golf skills, build confidence, create friendships, and enjoy being part of a supportive community. For many of our families, the drive becomes part of the routine because of the relationships, experiences, and opportunities their daughters gain through participation in Girls Golf and Florida Junior Golf programs.

Absolutely. Girls in our Competitive Team divisions will have opportunities to participate in intra-squad matches, skills competitions, team challenges, scrambles, and other developmental tournaments throughout the year. Families will also learn about additional tournament pathways that may be appropriate for their daughter's age, experience level, and goals. Competition is an important part of growth. It teaches girls how to manage emotions, overcome adversity, develop resilience, and gain confidence under pressure. Whether your daughter dreams of making her school team, playing college golf, or simply becoming more comfortable competing, these experiences help build valuable skills both on and off the course. Many girls begin in our Girls Golf Club where they develop confidence, friendships, and comfort on the golf course before exploring more competitive opportunities. Others may already be tournament players and participate in both programs. Our goal is to help every girl find the level of competition that is right for her while continuing to enjoy the game.

Traditional golf lessons often focus primarily on swing mechanics and technical skill development. While those things are important, Girls Golf is about something bigger. Our goal is to create a community where girls can learn, grow, lead, compete, and build lasting friendships through the game of golf. Girls have the opportunity to learn from coaches, encourage one another, participate in fun activities, develop confidence, and discover that golf can be both challenging and enjoyable. Older girls often become role models and mentors for younger participants, helping create a culture that feels welcoming and supportive for everyone. Many successful golfers will tell you that what kept them involved in the game wasn't just their golf swing. It was the friendships they built, the coaches who believed in them, the tournaments they experienced, and the sense of belonging they found along the way. We believe those experiences matter just as much as the scorecard.
